Welcome to the website of Just World Educational, a feisty nonprofit providing educational resources that critically examine the United States’ role in the world, focusing on issues of war, peace, and justice.

Since late August 2025, we've released a series of distinctive resources on the relationship between the UN and the genocide in Gaza. These include:

• The essay "Gaza, and the UN at 80" that our president, Helena Cobban, published at Globalities on August 20,
• The records of the conversation "From History to Today's UN"  that Ms. Cobban conducted in early September with scholar Mouin Rabbani,
• The records of the powerful webinar "Israel's attack on Qatar: The impact" that JWE presented September 11, featuring Rami Khouri, Dr. Azzam Tamimi,  Dr. Khaled Hroub, Craig Mokhiber, Rick Sterling, and Ms. Cobban as moderator.
• The records of the far-reaching conversation on "The the Gaza Genocide & Our Shifting World Order" that Ms. Cobban conducted with Amb. Chas Freeman on Sept. 17

Back in mid-June, we issued a "Call to Humanity" calling for use of the UN's "Uniting for Peace" procedure to sidestep the U.S. veto at the UN on the issues of Gaza and Iran. Read the full text of the Call here.

We have two other major projects that deal centrally with the ongoing crisis in Gaza:

** Back in May 2024, we launched a project "Understanding Hamas and Why It Matters." The first phase of it consisted of webinars that our Board Member Rami G. Khoury and JWE's president, Helena Cobban co-hosted in May with five world-class experts on this little understood and viciously maligned movement.

In the second phase of the project we compiled the transcripts of those conversations into a book, released by OR Books in London and New York in September 2024. To learn more about the book, visit this link.

** In November 2023, we launched a new podcast series, the "PalCast", initially hosted by Dr. Yousef Aljamal and co-hosted by Tony Groves and JWE Pres. Helena Cobban.

The Palcast continues to air weekly, bringing raw and smart voices from Gaza to English-language listeners worldwide. Find it on Apple, Spotify, and other major platforms. Learn more about it here.

** Throughout this crisis, our president, Helena Cobban, has continued to post new essays on her writing platform, Globalities, in which she's been exploring various diplomatic and international-law dimensions of the crisis in a very timely fashion.

Globalities, which explores the many rapid shifts the global balance is currently undergoing, is a project of Just World Educational.

Back in 2022, we undertook four big projects. The most significant of these was a groundbreaking series of webinars that we presented on the Ukraine crisis, during March 2022.

In these webinars, co-hosts Richard Falk and Helena Cobban explored many aspects of the crisis with 17 other great scholars and activists. We then built the records of those convos into a 32-page report titled "Ukraine: Stop the Carnage, Build the Peace", as well as a multimedia Online Learning Hub.
